| Description: | Còisir Ghà idhlig Ìle, now supported by about forty members strong, revived Islay’s Gaelic choral tradition in January 2007 under the baton of conductor Iseabail Mactaggart of Islay. The re-formed choir has attracted singers from the former Port Ellen Gaelic Choir plus increasing numbers of new members, some of whom are learners new to singing in Gaelic. This still relatively new choir is developing as an increasingly exciting and accomplished musical entity. |
